    I can write haiku,
    But I much prefer sonnets
    Roundels and ballads.

    The tanka is nice,
    And very simple to write.
    It is a haiku,
With two more lines added on,
    Of seven syllables each.
And if ye meet, yea, wheth’r afar or nigh,
A lady fair that should your succour cry,
Or damsel young that peril mayn’t avail,
It you behov’th her welfare not to fail,
    If she require of you a knight’s servíce;
Her worship whole ye shall warrant to kiss.
Whoso a woman’s honour dare forsake,
Shall lose his own. Fie, I pray Death him take!
Ladies and damsels serve: this counsel hold,
And worship shall ye have as bright as gold.

-Chrétien de Troyes (fl. 1180), The Romance of Percival, or the History of the Grail, Lines 497-506, Translated (and embellished) by me.

    I have one more day,
    minus some Regents Exams.
    Then I'll be home free.

    Exams really stink,
Can't wait to get rid of them.
    Then I'll have some peace.

    What could bring more pain
    Than merciless school life?
    It's just horrible.

    Depression, you Val?!
That seems so hard to believe
    Seeing your strength here.

    Believe it, Manus.
    I've attempted suicide.
    And so, I'm "special".

    Kids here are morons.
They have no respect for the
    teachers here at all.

    You of all people...
Ah, how that makes me suffer...
    Please don't try again.

    I may be a jerk,
    And overdramatic, but...
    I care about you.

    I am a caretaker,
I try to watch over all.
    Their pain is my pain.

    Kids have no respect?
    Oh, how that feels familiar.
    My school is like hell.

    Just turn to them and...
    Tell them to STFU.
    Jerks are evewhere...

    I am so tired
    It is vacation time now
    Vegetative me
It's no measure of health to be well adapted to a profoundly sick society
Too much angst sucks, seriousness is overrated, melodrama is comedy.

    we all care. And Sinistral,
    get the sleep you need.
    New fanfic quote:

"I am indeed a spy, milord, but not for the enemies of Mordor or the Master. Instead, I serve a different master, a group called the Protectors of the Plot Continuum. Milord, have you ever heard of 'fanfiction'?"
"Aye. A particularly odious form of sorcery, by all accounts."
    /.../
"Yes. And have you heard of 'fangirls'?"
"They are but a legend! A fearful legend, but a legend nonetheless."

    Exams are evil,
    School is a torture chamber,
    It's a real hell.

    Won't be left alone,
Still have damn exams to do.
    Can't play Tyrian yet...

    Someone dear to me
Will be gone for a long time
    I can't stand the pain.

    Can't play M:TG
Until I can clear my mind.
    I'm getting so bored.

    And some people I like
    Make me suffer every day.
    What did I do wrong?

    I hope this will end
    Before hope abandons me.
    My heart is restless...

    Should I be worried
    For liking people so much?
    It feels a bit weird.

    I'm always worried
    Concerned at every moment,
    My feelings are strong.

    Yes, I always care,
Even if they don't like me.
    I don't understand.

    ----------------------------------

    Someone I care for
Is now far beyond my reach
    I miss her so much...

    I feel so lonely,
    I can't take it anymore.
    Oh, please come back soon...
