I have never understood the use of the term "coke" as a catch-all term for soda.

I'm a big fan of fizzy drinks, myself. I'm especially fond of root beer, Dr. Pepper and Fresca, but what my personal favorite is Stewart's fountain sodas, especially the cherries-and-cream and orange-and-cream flavored ones.

    Food #16:
    Waffle Fries

You know these. Fries cut out in a waffle pattern. Typically found at Chick-Fil-A. Great fries. Because of the pattern, they seem to have a different crispness, I think.

I just ate at Chick-Fil-A yesterday. I enjoy them quite a bit. I don't really like regular french fries, though. I like waffle fries and curly fries (like at Arby's).

I'd guess it comes from being a registered nickname for Coca Cola, which in turn is the biggest soft drink on the market.

(And a fun fact: the Coca Cola Company didn't like the nickname for the soft drink at first, because they felt that calling it by another name would encourage substituting it with another product. In the end, people still called it "coke" anyway, so the Coca Cola Company gave up and just registered that name too. :P)

As for the waffle fries, I think they're pretty much the same as any other kind of fries. Although I haven't actually eaten both at the same time to compare.

I like 'em. Haven't had 'em in a long time, though. This is a thing which I must rectify.

I get my waffle fries at Chick-Fil-A... the only thing with those is that they really need to be cooked enough so that they aren't soggy. Soggy waffle fries are worse that than soggy shoestrings or crinkles.

I also love the ones that have the potato skin left on one side; my friend calls them "potato butts" and hates them, so we tend to trade. :D

Wow... I don't think I've ever had a waffle fry. I suddenly feel like I'm missing a big part of life.

    Food #17:
    Caesar Dressing

I like Caesar dressing. Only salads I eat are Caesar, honey mustard, or balsamic vinaigrette (in a pinch, catalina will do). It's especially good with grilled chicken.

Russian/Thousand Island dressing is pretty much the only dressing I eat. Of course, I generally don't eat salad.

I had a chicken sandwich from Panera that came with Caesar dressing, and that was pretty good. One of my favorite salads is the grilled chicken Caesar at Firebirds, since it comes with chile-dusted croutons, and the spice contrasts really well with the dressing; I ask them to leave off the cheese though since they put (literally) about two cups of it on top. I found this out because I asked for the cheese on the side, and that's how much there was.

Balsamic vinaigrette is my absolute favorite salad dressing, followed closely by an apple vinaigrette I first had in Disney World. :)

(As a note, I freaking LOVE this thread. It actually gets me to post daily!)

I do so enjoy coke. Any and all versions, except this one apple flavored one my mom likes. I don't really drink any whilst at school unless it's in a rum and coke.

Waffle fries are tasty! Especially when dipped in ranch dressing.

I don't like Caesar dressing. But then again I don't like salad dressing very much on my salads.

I rarely, if ever, eat salad. So not much dressing either.
When I do, I just take a little of whatever dressing is availible.

    Food #18
    Fried Crickets

I'm turning Fridays into Funny Food Fridays. I name some food I find funny, for whatever reason. It may be weird. It may look strange. It may have a humorous name. I may just find it funny for no fucking reason in particular. But Friday Foods, are Funny Foods.

As for fried crickets, they're actually quite tasty. They remind me of sunflower seeds but just slightly oilier. I suggest trying them.

Where am I going to get fried crickets? Man. I don't normally go for bugs, but cooked bugs are okay (I've had chocolate covered ants, for instance).

Fried Crickets = Anything fried will taste good.

That said, I've never had the opportunity to try Crickets with anything.

    Food #19:
    'Mater Sandwiches

These are common sandwiches in the South. The ingredients are simple: white bread, sliced tomato, salt, pepper, and, if you wish, mayonnaise. I'm not a fan of mayo, so if I ate tomatoes, I would do the sandwich without the mayo.

Ugh, tomatoes and mayo in one sandwich? Why do you hate people so much in the South? >:(

I used to eat ants raw (and alive, most of the time). ^^

Hmm.. So it's a sandwich with tomato on it? Wow, that's original.
Never eaten specifially a "'Mater Sandwich", but it would fall into the general category of "if it's served, I'll eat it".
