    Can't sleep...clown'll eat me...

As those of you who know me personaly can attest to, I often have trouble getting to sleep. It's been a problem for quite some time, and I can't isolate any single cause. Unless I've had a very exausting day, I just never seem to get very tired.

So...just to get some opinions, what are some things you all like to try when you can't sleep?

Exercise. Clinically proven to help you sleep. So when I can't sleep I do situps, push ups, or I hit the gym. I do this during the day anyway, but it never hurts to do it when you can't sleep to tucker yourself out.

You could always try my method, which is have a fan turned on during all time at night pointing at you while having a radio playing the background. I do this mainly due to the fact I can't stand pure silence, as it drives me crazy when I can't hear any noise.

A fellow will remember a lot of things you wouldn't think he'd remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on the ferry, and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in, and on it there was a girl waiting to get off. A white dress she had on. She was carrying a white parasol. I only saw her for one second. She didn't see me at all, but I'll bet a month hasn't gone by since that I haven't thought of that girl.

Not being able to sleep when you're supposed to is a disorder, GG. Go ask your doctor about it.

    I'm serious.

Go see a doctor would be your best bet, but if you can't another option would be to wake up at 6 am and go do things. Run around the block, play some sport, do something other than things that require little physical activity. If your tired after a long day, sleeping should be no problem.

That has to be a very severe case, then. I've never heard of ADHD causing lack of sleep, and I have ADHD.

I used to have this problem when I was little, and this helped. Start waking up early, it helps you sleep at night and makes your day longer, so it's a win-win situation. Then again, I haven't been able to sleep past 6 am ever since my biological clock adjusted to this routine.

If that still doesn't help: Really, get a doctor.
Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! My mom has to take ambien to even get close to falling asleep. She has built a tolerance to it now, so they're talking about putting her on some more heavy stuff. She'll go days without sleeping sometimes.

Ewww, insomnia. I hate insomnia. There's not really anything to be done but to take sleeping pills, you can, of course, try to relax by reading or listening to music or masturbating or maybe even doodling, but it rarely actually works. Talk to your doctor.

You may have a disorder or there may be other things going on, which you might not think matter but they do. It could be a variety of things.

I've actually read somewhere that exercising right before you go to bed won't help you go to sleep, but keep you up longer. I'm not 100% sure if that's what you meant, but I'll see if I can find it. It might have been Men's Health Magazine, and I'm not sure how credible they are (It's just fun to read ;P)

Daily exercise will help you sleep I believe. I don't think its necessarily helpful to do before bed either.

I just had an idea: read a nice thick science book. Nothing puts me to sleep like that.

You may just be too used to summer sleep patterns. You know, sleeping late, rising late. I've read that watching the sun rise resets your personal clock.
