Food #286:
Tiger Bread

I've had it once. I liked it. Dunno how the hell I had it, but I know I did. If you're in San Francisco, I suggest you try it. They call it Dutch Crunch Bread there.

Glory, glory. And to hell with Auburn.

Ditto. Sounds interesting, though.

Black Beans

I only eat them in burritos. Maybe chili, but I don't know about that. They're purely a filler and not that good on their own.

I don't like beans. Except the jelly kind.

Cheddar Cheese

I like extra sharp cheddar cheese. It's good to make grilled cheeses with. I also like using it in a ham melt. Good cheese. Lofty cheese.

Tiger Bread: Oddly enough, I've had this before. But only once, and that was because someone brought it to a family reunion.

Black Beans: Don't care for frijoles negros. (Clever use of Spanish there...gotta show something for my 4 years.)

Cheddar Cheese: I'm torn on this one. I don't care for it by itself, but like it on select stuff, like cheddar biscuits.

I like Dubliner Cheddar. I've tried others but they are either too mild or too sharp, but Dubliner is perfect. Especially on a grilled cheese sandwhich made with freshly baked bread and olive oil.

Grilled cheese sandwiches make it perfect. Otherwise, no thanks.

Food #289:
Wraps

Wraps are a great way of eating a sandwich. YOu get a salad. And meat. And cheese. All in one handheld delivery unit! I particularly like chicken Caesar wraps.

Wraps are good when they aren't pre-made. Then I can special order to my heart's content.

I've only had premade wraps. They were never any good.

Food #290:
Garlic

Garlic adds a good flavor when used with restraint. Too much garlic is a bad thing though. A bad, bad thing. It definitely needs to be used sparingly.

I like garlic, but it's got to be cooked somehow.

Garlic is a good addition to some foods. It makes it taste good. We had a lot of garlic back in January when my friends and I were in charge of cooking for ourselves. There was one night when a friend was making eggplant stir fry and was having all of us peel loads of garlic. We were looking at her weirdly after we'd finished peeling two heads of garlics. We asked her how much was needed for the recipe and she said, "2 to 3 cloves." Seems she wasn't aware how much a clove was.

Food #291:
Beef Carpaccio

I've had it before. I typically don't like rarer beef (and you can't get much more rare than raw), but it worked. I won't eat it all the time, but it's good every now and then.

Funny Food #292:
Total Happiness

Remember those Subway commercials BEFORE the Five Dollar Footlong song? Yeah, one of them referred to Meatball Subs as Total Happiness. And that is why, to this very day, I refer to meatball subs as Total Happiness.

I've never had the subway meatball sub, so I wouldn't know if that is good...But I have enjoyed meatball subs in the past.
