Superhero University. Open RP

[Acenra]

as the title suggests, this is a university for superheroes in training. the inspiration is from playing a similar game a while ago on older forums.

The grounds

the establishment is suprisingly small. There are dorms on the west wing, north are the lecture halls, east is the main hall/theatre, south is the gym, north west is the cafeteria, north east are the teacher offices and general admin, and the center is a nice little park for people to relax.

the gym holds a powerful simulator to create real life conditions.

The Teachers:

five known teachers are present

Mr. Samson: the dean, posseses powerful mind powers to keep students under control

Dr. Demolish: science teacher, posseses superhuman intelect (who honestly didn't see this coming?)

Ms. multi: can multiply herself hundreds of times. incharge of admin

Dr. dealie: can use x-ray vision. schools medic

Mr. simons: gym teacher, can turn himself to stone.

Tharros: the school's 'Talent Scout' so to speak, controls Zero Point Energy, and can gain defensive attributes of powers (Added by SatoDraygonFIST{Tas})

Key Villains: these are villains that are key parts in one or more characters plot line

Agent Ebon:
Info: Adam's clone. now a high ranking agent in Alpha Domini
Powers: controls a form of energy that can be used as concussive blasts or to tie people to the ground. healing factor improved five times. Wingless flight. black belt in five consecutive martial arts.
Appearance: looks exactly like Adam, but wheres a black suit and a pair of black sunglasses
Threat level: only after Adam. not too much of a threat to anyone else
Bio: as Adam's powers aren't able to be clone, the organisation had to create powers from scratch for ebon. Ebon spent the entirity of his life training until he was told to go out into the field and take on his target. he's 4 years old, but has the age of 18

Villainous organisations: these are groups of villains which pose a threat to the school

Alpha Domini: a secret organisation which believe in a better world. they are brutal but elegent, and are very good at dealing with a problem and completley disappearing from the scene. has a habbit of cloning specific superheroes and villains in order to increase their ranks.

Powers: Magic Based. Self Propelled flight (no wings) control of light magic. mastery of ancient martial arts. mastery over all music (personally, a power I greatly desire), invincible will power to defend against mind powers. weak spells from guantlets
Backstory: Adam owns a costume which amplifies his light powers, but his guantlets have four gems in each glove. The gems control elements. with the red gem, he can throw a weak fire ball, the blue creates a water ball which can be turned into an ice ball, also weak. the green can make a block of stone erpt out the ground but the block is half Adam's hieght and a little wider. The white can use a blast of air which can knock an enemy off their balance, but other than that, it's harmless

Adam is being chased by an organisation called "Alpha Domini"

Jimmy has been sort of a friend to Adam, it's hard to tell.

Adam just led on his bed that morning. he couldn't be bothered to take his coat or hat off.

he wore a white turtle neck sweater, blue jeans, brown walking boots, grey trenchcoat and fedora. he had straight, shoulder length blonde hair, and a goatee to go with it. he was a handsome and athletic individual and was the only person in the school from England.

as he led there, there was a sudden knock on the door
"What?" he asked. mr Samson entered with a smile
"Adam, you ok?" he asked
"another year here? i can't believe my dad put me through this. why couldn't I learn on my own? that's how he did it,"
"look, could you stop mopping? i'm taking a lecture on averting nuclear disasters and I want to make sure you're there. you're one of the only magic students in the school. you need to know this. it's in an hour in confrence room c, ok?" Mr Samson left.

Adam sighed. the only reason why he was doing it in person was because mr Samson couldn't hypnotise him into doing it. standing, Adam decides to wander over to the confrence room.

Hero Name: Action Man (The media gave it to him. He hates it.)

Powers: Sensory control (heightening and deprivation, self and outside), superhuman intellect. Peak physical conditioning, as he can number the feel of fatigue when working out.

Backstory: Jack's parents hardly seemed to notice him, a beginning only fitting, given his later powers; he can be as notable or invisible as he wishes. He has the power to, with respect to himself, or with his own senses, heighten or deprive any sense, from the given five to more abstract kinesthetic and "spacial" senses that fall loosely under touch and magical/psionic "sixth" senses. Ditching class was easy, and something the intelligent youth started doing early on, rather than waste his time. He simply made it so the teacher couldn't see him when he left or when he returned, leading a baffled to professor to "swear he wasn't there a minute ago."
High school fights against the thin boy ended quickly; suddenly, a foe couldn't see what he was punching, while Jack could augment his vision to see through skin and find a glass jaw, a protruding spleen, or just save himself the trouble and take out a leg with a quick kick to the knee. Jack became something of a saint among the strange and persecuted, the one they came to when problems they couldn't deal with themselves arose.
Jack began his superhero career around high school, too. Foiling a robbery at a gas station by twisting the gun away from his opponent, something he actually accomplished with nothing more than a little Krav Maga from a library book, no actual powers, and firing a shot into his leg before leaving with a witty line and derisive smirk. The clerk said he was "like some kind of action hero," and the unfortunate moniker was born.
Jack's one of the university's more (in)famous students,one of the heroes who doesn't holt the law in high regard is a go-to man for problems, "needs" (items or, if you're the right type of lady, other sorts of needs). Thanks to his sensory deprivation abilities, there is no strict evidence of this, so, while suspicions are always on him, there is no proof. Jack, himself, admits to the truth of some comments, but mocks his own growing legend at the school after just a year.

John took a slow sip from a silver flask, sighing and wiping his eye. They couldn't even see him here to know he was at the lecture, but they also couldn't see him drinking at the lecture, so it averaged out. He'd pop back in to view when the role call started. Huh, the English kid showed up. John loosely knew Adam, though they associated in different circles, between the two of them, they made up the whole of the school's Great British population. John was a Scottish seperatist, so he wasn't exactly keen on their overarching, shared nationality, but it meant they ended up with a few things in common to talk about when seated near each-other in classes. Seeing the headmaster walk in a few steps behind, Jack pocketed the flask and popped into vision, startling the girls on either side of him. He flashed a grin through his five o'clock shadow. "Don't do it in the dorms, I swear," he laughed, holding up a hand to signify he gave his word.
"We know. You're visible when you're over here," one quipped back.
"Takes the fun out of hiding, otherwise,"Jack shrugged to their laughter and a scornful glare from the front. Everyone else was being quiet. Huh.

Name: Devin Shaw

Hero name: (none - relatively unknown)

Year: Freshman

Powers: Elemental power over earth. 'Earth' includes soil, clay, rock, metal, etc.

Backstory: His powers did not manifest themselves often during his early life, but when he was twelve he started to understand the full extent of his abilities. In a fit of rage, he crushed a schoolyard bully under a huge pile of rock. The injuries were not fatal, but Devin was put in a sanitarium for the next four years. One year after his release, another incident occurred. Details are not well known, but it is most certain that there was a fatality, and Devin was sentenced to ten years in prison before Mr. Samson intervened on his behalf and negotiated Devin's involuntary enrollment in the school.

Sitting through a lecture about preventing nuclear disasters was not Devin's idea of fun, but if the court ordered it, he did it. Devin refused to waste any more years of his life locked up, but at the same time, this school was a prison of a whole new sort. Go to this lecture, go to that training simulation, talk to Mr. Samson, lights out, it was all monotonous. Devin got some enjoyment out of the training simulations, but even those were only as fun as basketball in a prison courtyard; it was something to do, but at the same time it was the only thing to do. Given his criminal status, he was forbidden from going on the missions that some of the other students participated in, and he was unable to leave the campus without expressed permission from Mr. Samson and a faculty escort.

All I have to do is play along until I can graduate. he reminded himself. It was something he did often.

He walked towards the conference room, knowingly a few minutes late, and he honestly didn't care. The court had said nothing about being punctual, and Devin did the bare minimum as far as that was concerned. Wearing a not-so-respectable Slayer shirt, a raggedy pair of old blue jeans he had worn the previous day, and a brown mop of unkempt hair, it was no secret that he held the meeting in low regard.

When he finally arrived, he saw that there was some disturbance. Following the stares of the crowd, he determined that the source was Action Man, as the outsiders referred to him. Devin didn't know Jack all that well, aside from a few training exercises they had done together, but since there weren't many seats left, he plopped down behind the troublemaker anyway.

((the year indicates howlong a students been there, so age doesn't matter. it works like a university/college. so people have like 12 hours of lessons a week. these can be organised in anyway you wish.))

As per-usual, Adam sat down on his own, away from the main cluster of the class. Although he was sometimes socialise with other students in the school, he made the effort to be on his own. no one knew why, but he just preffered to stay on his own for the majority of his time. in the library, in the cafeteria, anywhere, he always became the loner.

mr Samson took to the podium at the front and pressed a button. the title of the lectre's subject 'Nuclear Disasters' came into view on the board
"I appologise for making you have an extra day here, but I recently noticed that this lesson was taken off the sylabus yesterday, and I don't have the time to put it anywhere else," he explained, "and remember, there's an assembly tomorrow morning to make the freshmen feel at home. you get no lectures, too, because the teachers are setting up for the September Ball, so, consider it just one hour. anyway, on with the lecture...."

OOC: Alright folks the power i was originally thinking for my char is very hard to explain...but yeah I'll go for it anyways.

IC: Jessica's keen and dissecting gaze traveled around the room, picking up on every single mundane little detail. Her fingers were interlocked together in a musing fashion, and she rested her chin on her thumbs while thinking her dark thoughts...

~Why am i the only girl here?~ She thought, ~Oh, i know. Probably since I'm one of the few girls here who pulls her head out of the clouds and back down to earth.~

She moved her hand and let her fingertips brush the table. The second her skin came in contact with the wood, she brought her powers to bear and began to read the object. It spoke to her of all the people who had sat there ever, all the people who had taken tests, listened to lectures, wrote on it...and as she sat there with her middle finger just barely touching the table she knew she could ask it to throw itself across the room if she so desired...

But now was not the time. Quickly Jessica retracted her fingers and put them in her lap. She stared moodily down at the table. Now was not that time. Maybe at this point she really should start listening..

She had noticed that John kid, sure. He was in her grade, but Jess had never talked to him. She didn't talk to many people, her powers didn't exactly make her a great science lab partner...

I'm kinda busy with the other RPs, but I've always liked superhero RPGs so I'm going to give this a limited try, as in, don't expect the long, convoluted posts I usually write. Gonna relax with this one. :p

Name: William Martinson
Hero name: Psion
Year: Freshman
Powers: Medium-level Telekinesis (can lift a car, but not a tank) and high-level telepathic Illusions. He doesn't use his illusions openly, as he wants to keep them as an "ace in the hole." Besides they tend to creep people out. (The faculty knows about them, of course.)
Backstory: Nothing extraordinary. He's a mutant whose powers started to manifest when he was a child. He doesn't get along well with his family. He joined the school because, well, it seemed the logical thing to do. He's not terribly motivated to socialize or even to be a hero, though he will help people if they are in trouble. He's a highly intelligent but unmotivated individual. (Think Shikamaru from Naruto. "Man, what a drag." :P )

His costume is just a few things he threw together: skintight shirt, normal pants, boots, fastened-on cape, and work goggles as a mask. The whole suit is green (the shirt is light green, the rest is dark green) without any insignias.


Will got up and got ready for his first day of class (he just transfered.) He wasn't particularly thrilled. He lived on-campus thanks to a special arrangement, a grant from the Wayne Foundation for low-income heroes. In reality he just wanted to get away from his family, for whom he was never good enough. He had a bad feeling this place wasn't going to be much better, but at least with all the super-powered folk, it should be more entertaining.

Once he was ready, he walked to his first class of the day.

"... and that is how to avert a nuclear disaster. thankyou for coming on such short notice, but it's an important class. you have the rest of the day free. and if you want to help out with the September ball, just see Ms. Multi in the admin office. she'll sign you up for tomorrow,"

Adam sighed. TWO HOURS of nuclear physics. he never spent so much time in a single class before. it was tedious. the basic moral for him and any other magic student was this
"leave it to the tech guys" the entire class shifted from their chairs and moved out of the class room. Adam sat there for a while before moving. while he did he thought about the Ball that was coming up this thursday

the last one was a disaster. Adam didn't go, but he heard that some troublemaking junior with laser vision decided to show off and ended up cutting out the schools electrics for a month. because of this and his lack of social skills, Adam decided to stay away from this years aswell. he knew the process

first, people get excited and try and get dates

second, people get drunk at said party and end up doing something they sorley regret

finally, a pop quiz appears the next morning, and everyone is too hung over to deal with it.

Adam was suspicious that the teachers do this to test hero responsibility. So, instead of going there, he'd study and be ready for the exam the next day. sensible, right?

Jessica yawned. She had subconsciously absorbed the information in that droll and boring lecture while her mind had been on other things, later tonight she would recall the facts she needed for whatever pop quiz or test would be heading their way. A blanket of monotony had settled over her this past month, she needed something exciting to spice up her life.

She reached behind her and pulled out her braid, shaking down her shining curtain of black hair and combing through it with her fingers as she walked along, humming tunelessly to herself. She needed a good sparring match or something to keep her on her toes, but sign ups had already happened, and she had of course beaten her opponent senseless. It was one of those stupid cocky seniors, whom she despised....

Jack listened during the assembly. Nuclear physics was something new and, therefore, interesting. Two hours of it might've stretched a little, but he had time to zone out during the repeated notes to "leave it to the tech guys". He was, probably considered among those, what with the superhuman intellect and all. His powers weren't really solidly agreed upon among the faculty, so he was probably regarded as part of any group; hence, more excuses to yell at him with rare documentation of his wrongdoing. It wasn't that they were strict, it was a Capone system; they yelled at him a lot for minour offenses, because they couldn't prove his larger transgressions.

Jack though about asking one of the girls next to him the September Ball, but abandoned the idea. It wasn't like they'd say "no," his Scottish accent and what he was told was a "roguish charm" would've had them in seconds. That was just the problem. Girls falling over themselves for accents and bad-boy stereotypes weren't girls that were really worth Jack's time. At least, not worth dancing with and spending a whole evening with. He'd have to go for somebody harder to get. He shook his head and ran a hand through his black hair, looking for something to do.

Jessica stalked around the school grounds, giving everyone the evil eye. She knew that almost the entire student body was thinking about the September Ball...it was all nonsense, all of it. She was easy enough on the eyes, but last year had elected not to go to the event, simply because she knew it would crush a handful of hearts among the male sect.

Seeing as she was a Sophmore, it would look good to the teachers and other kids if she went this year. no longer could she use the excuse, 'scared freshman' as her safety net, she had proved that she was far above and beyond anything the school could ask of her.

~Ask me to the Ball, i dare you.~ She thought, glaring around at everyone, ~Just TRY me and see what kind of mood I'm in...~

Devin heard almost nothing about nuclear disasters, seeing as he had been asleep since they started talking about the effects of radiation on the environment. Nuclear winters were interesting, of course, but only when they were in the movies.

He woke up just in time to hear the dismissing remarks. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he stood and began walking out of the conference room. He did plan on showing up to the ball to at least see what all the fuss was about, but he hadn't put any thought towards who he was going to ask, or if he was going to ask anyone at all. He wasn't normally as antisocial as he had been so far at the school, but he spent more time wallowing in self-pity than he did trying to make friends. Life was giving him lemons, but he refused to make lemonade, choosing instead to keep a sour attitude.

When he walked outside, he used his ability to pull a fist-sized rock into his open palm. He walked around campus, tossing the rock up and catching it over and over again. After a few seconds, Devin began tossing the rock higher and higher with the use of his powers as a sort of game, and he soon forgot to even pay attention to where he was walking. Suddenly, while his gaze was towards the sky, he felt an impact as he had run straight into another student.

"Oh, shit!" he exclaimed. After he regained his footing and made sure that neither he nor his victim were going to fall over, he surveyed the damage. The student he had run into was an attractive girl with dark hair and an unhappy expression. "Oh, my God," he said apologetically, "I'm sorry."

Just then, the rock he had been throwing fell to back to the ground with incredible speed and embedded itself on the sidewalk . In the awkward moment that followed, Devin considered for a moment asking her to the ball, but since he couldn't think of a worse pickup line than "Oh, shit" or a less romantic way of meeting a girl than running into her, he quickly abandoned the idea.

"Damn," he finally said, "Are you okay? I'm sorry again..."

"It's alright." Jessica said frostily, her keen gaze sweeping the kid up and down. She had never seen him before, but that didn't mean much. He could be a senior, for all she cared, or just a stupid freshman it wouldn't make any difference to her. She saw how he looked at her, and immediately she hated him for it.

~What am i to you, ya louse? Just a cute piece of ass?~ She thought sourly, jamming her hands into her pockets and giving him her darkest and most vindictive stare.

She could touch his arm and send him into an emotional landslide, with just a touch she could search his feelings, command him to throw himself off a cliff, make him just curl up and cry...she had command and dominance over him and he could never know, all he saw was a cute piece of ass...

~Maybe he's different...~ She thought then. He had a look in his eyes that she had seen before in her very own. Maybe he wasn't like all the other losers at this school...

He stopped for a second, getting the idea that she was thinking uglier thoughts than she was saying and feeling as if he was about to melt under that harsh stare, but at the same time, he couldn't figure out what he'd done wrong. He thought about arguing his case for a brief moment, but instead decided to just let it go.

"Look, I'm sorry again," he said once he was confident that he could communicate complete thoughts again, "Didn't mean to run into you."

He brought the rock back to his grasp then, and started to walk on, feeling even worse than he did a moment ago.

Adam decided to make his way over to the gym, to practice some martial arts. everywhere he could see posters of the upcoming event and he rolled his eyes at each one. reaching outside, he stood, then continued on his way. every person he passed he ignored. one or two of the girls looked at him with a smile, but recieved no response, and the girls who sneered and glared had no result.

the entire school knew him as the emotionless and sarcastic guy. the young man with the cynicism of an elderly relative. he would never open up, never make friends. he was just a person who was hollow, and no one knew why. really, the only person he talked to was that Scottish guy, John, but even then, it was rare.

if he wasn't in the gym, breaking the necks of the thugs in the sims, he was in the library, and if not there, the music department. on any field assignment, he was alone, even though the saftey rules told him not to. in the library, he was behind a barracade of books, and in the music rooms, he was a soloist who never performed. some just felt sorry for him, others seriously disliked him, and the rest just couldn't be bothered anymore.

Walking passed a small crack in the ground, the loner started to wonder how long the line would be today.

OOC: Dude...all Jess said was, 'It's alright' the rest was just her thoughts...I think you missed that memo.

IC: Jessica decided to head to the gym. The holographic thugs there were about as advanced as you could get them these days, with a higher AI than most other programs. Admittedly, Jess thought she might scour around and look for a real opponent, seeing as pounding the hell out of computer generated pixels wasn't as rewarding as feeling bones crunch and necks snap...

~Bad impulses!~ Jess thought, quickly closing her eyes and pounding her forehead with her hands. What had happened the last time she had let such fantasies get away from her? Well, she had ended up here. She wasn't going to let it happen again.

John found his way to the gym, and, with it, the front of the line; no-one saw, heard, smelled, or magically sensed him until he arrived a few behind the head, where he explained it was his usual "pop-out" trick when he didn't want to be bothered. He showed himself so he didn't get skipped. The boy behind him didn't exactly, believe him, but there wasn't much he could do. The cameras wouldn't pick up Jack if he didn't want them to. Which was the unexplained bit in his power that drove the instructors up a wall; he wasn't dealing with sentient beings' senses, here, he was dealing with physical changes. He had to be. His power was either molecular reconstruction and alteration of his physical form, dimension shifting (Jack shot damn good whiskey out his nose laughing the first time that suggestion came out, and it's irritated him ever since), or psionic alteration of the world to his willpower. Evidently, he really didn't want to be noticed sometimes. Or something like that. However it was looked at, Jack was constantly reminded that simple feats, like cutting in line, per say, were a waste of his tremendous gift. Hell, even heroism the way he did it wasted what his powers, if the theses were correct, could do. Jack thought it was time for that heroism now, to make himself feel a little less bad about cutting in line. His vision became clearer as he altered his own senses, picking out a dark-haired, very unhappy face near the end of the line. Then a very bored looking English boy no-one else really associated with. "I'm down here," he called out, motioning to them with a sensory alteration such that his motion would be very noticable, and thus clearly directed at those to whom it was notable. Another time-saving parlor trick that wasted his power, he knew, but it wasn't like he had limited amounts of it, or anything. "You're both late, come on up so we can get in when they call us without making the rest wait," he said. Hopefully, the sad-faced girl would have a better day, and hanging out with others was always good for the English boy and his martial arts.

OOC: sorry about that, Sato - I'm used to seeing thoughts in italics, so the 'squigglies' didn't really set of any signals for me. It seems you got past it easily enough, though, so all is well. I did edit, though, just to keep things in the realm of making sense.

William paid close attention during the Nuclear Meltdown lesson -it wasn't part of his regular classes, but he asked to be let in because, well, while he really, REALLY hoped it would not be up to him to stop one, you simply could never be sure, especially when half of the supervillains in the world seemed mad enough to try things like that. Even if they gained nothing from it. Maybe that's why they're villains in the first place.

Most of the physics stuffs was over his head, but he realized that he could safely use his telekinesis to push in any removed control rods to help stop the reactor's overheating. Unfortunately his TK could not protect him from the radiation, so unless there was a wall in between them, he would likely get badly irradiated. He made a mental note to get a signal device and call someone with a Force Field or something similar in such a case.

Still, two hours on the subject was a little too long even for him, and he was glad when it was over.

Afterwards he had a little time free between classes, so he decided to go to the gym and watch how the other guys worked at it. He had no intention to jump in yet, however- he was worried it would be full of super-school jocks, and the last thing he wanted right now was to get on somebody's bad side.

As he walked around Campus, he saw the incident between the girl who stared down everybody (he didn't care) and the guy who almost dropped a rock on her. He wondered if it was a way to get to get her to come with him to the Prom, or if he really was that klutzy. Again, he didn't care, so he walked past them.

The Prom... he thought about it. He had never been in a relationship so far, and really didn't care yet. Most girls seemed full of themselves and more than ready to criticize you. No, he didn't really feel like going. He wondered, though, how he would react if some girl asked him. Heh, fat chance... he was very plain looking... but some girls probably would not get picked and ask guys like him out of desperation. How should he react then? Just flatly reject them, or let them down easily?

Bah, he would cross that river when he got to it, he decided. If it happened. As he mused, he realized he had reached the gym.

"RAAAAUGH!!!"

Jessica kicked high and fast, lashing around in a devastating spin kick. Her foot connected with the neck of the sparring dummy, snapping the thing back as far as the spring would let it. Before the foam object could even settle, the venting teen was coming at it again, this time with a kick step and a knee.

She slammed a few more good ones onto its side before palming it to the chin. The light-up display on its chest flared to life, indicating that the test dummy was indeed, 'dead.' That wasn't good enough for Jessica, she gave a hoarse scream and pounced, projecting her fist straight into the heart of the electronics until her fingers felt wire.

She ripped the circuitry out and onto the floor, her fists balled and her face set. She looked down at the test dummy, a gaping hole in its chest.

It sparked and shuddered weakly.

Swiftly, on impulse, Jessica dug her fingernails into the skin on her forearm, feeling that damnable rage rising in her gut. The pain soothed her as she stood there in the gym, clawing her own arm. When she could finally see straight she released herself, breathing heavily.

With a few deft movements, she retied her hair and looked around again. A few kids were giving her strange looks. They had better find something else to stare at in the next three seconds or she would pull the same trick on their faces...

"Bad thoughts..." Jessica moaned, biting her lip so hard she drew blood. She bent over and slammed her fist on the ground, "BAAAAD THOUGHTS...."

[Arac]

Jack was still looking at Jessica, longer than three seconds later. She hadn't even thanked him for getting her to the front of the line, simply come forward with a slightly-less angry face that lasted about half a second, and done an appropriately superhuman number on a traning dummy. Jack scored well in the gym, always; his body was effectively the best a normal human could get, but her ferocity, and perhaps some superpower, but maybe not, outdid was his excellent condition could pull off. He was strong enough to kill one like that, easy, and quick enough to pull it off, too. The wire-chest "disembowling". though? Creeping Jesus. His look wasn't strange, however, just impressed.
"I didn't know the bots had a take-the-Malki setting," he smirked, flipping the training robot that got back up to attack him for a second round over his head, flinging it from his right side to his left, where he stepped on its neck before it coudl get up, causing it to show death. He picked his foot up casually. "The auldjins moan at you for wrecking them?" he asked a second later.

a test dummy hit the back wall, hard. a good 20 feet of clearance was made. Adam opened his eyes and then just stood there. the dummy ran back out, bar raised. in a split second, an orb of lsacred light emerged and was let loose. it travelled at an immense speed, and hit its target. the blow successfully 'destroyed' it.

looking over to John, he thought he might as well say thanks before leaving. but until then, he turned his attention to a simulated wall of brick. taking a defensive pose, he closed his eyes. the martial art he practiced was based entirley on visualisation, which allowed him to launch that dummy 20 feet. the rule of mind over matter was easily applied. by using the mind to fool the body, you could do alot of things not possible. he stood and concentrated for a little longer

"Please don't talk to me right now..." Jessica breathed, still in a little ball of rage on the ground. It was taking every ounce of her self control to stop herself from exploding, going nuclear on everyone in the room, "If anything so much as touches me....if anything so much as--"

"DO YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE?" One of the gym's androids motored over to her side, seeing her hunched over on the ground and immediately assuming that she was in some sort of medical state, needing attention.

Jessica sprang, as though her legs were made of springs that had finally just snapped. Strangely, seconds before her foot was about to make devastating contact with the android, she stopped right in the apex of her kick. This left her in a bizarre position with her leg outstretched, but at least she had stopped herself, right?

"DO YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE?"

She dropped her foot back down and looked at the clutch marks on her arm, which were now bleeding freely. It would be so easy for her to break her seals now, to rip them open and just kill everyone in this bloody joint, to back to her normal, volatile way of life...she could do it, in one moment she could be free from this place, free from the burden of being a 'hero'....

"DO YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE?"

Yes, good God yes she required assistance. Was there a therapist at this school? That's what she needed, not a freaking education when it comes to being super. What good would it do her if she couldn't even control her own urges, her own mad and irrational desires to kill?

"DO YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE?"

But she could never say anything, could she? Would never. No doubt she had attracted the looks of everyone in the gym with her childish, primitive behavior.

"DO YOU REQUIRE--"

Jessica turned and stalked out of the gym, not before jabbing the android hard in the neck with two fingers, and disabling its babel chip. ~Try offering help now when you can't even talk, you trash can~ she thought bitterly, shouldering past the first person she saw...

William watched from the gym seats; since he had not come to practice, he could get in without joining the queue. He sipped from a soda can -The kind Captain Amazing, that sellout, promotes- as he watched the guys and girls practice their hand-to-hand skill. He was quite impressed, especially the way they tore apart the dummies so easily. Assuming, of course, they weren't using any powers to do it.

Then he noticed the dark-haired girl -the same one that was giving everyone the Evil Eye earlier- was scratching herself. And she was- bleeding!?

The young hero was shocked. Did she hurt herself during practice? Was she under attack by unseen forces... or was she- doing it on purpose???


He remembered hearing that some Goth Chick somewhere did that in order to use her magic. Or was she just a "cutter?" Her face certainly looked like she was going to go all She-Hulk on everybody!

He considered using his invisible TK to make her stop, but before he could, a Gym android approached her, and asked her if she needed assistance. She seemed to calm down, but then tore off something off it as she left.

Everyone was staring at her, but she walked away, seemingly now under control.
-*I have a bad feeling about that one* he thought. He wondered if he should do something, like follow her, or report her. However, he saw Mr. Simmons, the Gym Teacher, was approaching her, looking concerned.
-*Good, let some else deal with her. I have enough problems of my own* Will thought, though he still had a feeling she would cause problems in the future.

Jessica saw Simmons heading towards her, and quickly she blasted through the doors and out into the main hall. She was not in the mood to be confronted by the faculty, not after causing such a ridiculous scene. What on earth had posessed her?

the beast lifted its head and gave a small growl. Jessica winced and clutched at her stomach as she moved along. Ah yes, of course. That was what had posessed her.

Simmons looked at Adam, who sighed and took flight. It was a real pain, doing this all the time. his father being a famous superhero meant that his father knew Mr. Samson, which meant that Mr. Samson had made Adam part of the staff in a way. infact, he can remember the conversation. his dad said something like "now remember, my son is going to be a top notch superhero when he gets his powers, so, if you do make that school of yours, make sure he does all the hard stuff"

At the time, Adam thought it was a joke, then again, he was seven years old, so nearly anything was funny.

following the girl outside, he sighed
"Hey!" he yelled. he charged a pair of light orbs for defence. he could guess as to where this was going.

Jessica turned, no longer angry but just weary. She stood there glaring at the kid who braced before her, his powers ready to bear.

"What do you want?" She asked icily.

he floats over to the girl and lands. the light fades
"look, I'm not exactly chipper about doing this either, but apparently I'm sort of work here. so, just a couple of questions,"

"First, what's happening to you,"

"Second is sacred light a weakness of yours?" he asked, "and before you think either one, no and no, I'm not going to that bloody ball with anyone. I plan to stay in the library and study," his responses were on the verge of being as icy as hers

"now hurry up and answer me before you run out of blood"

"What's happening to me? Do you really need to ask? Rage, its called an emotion." Jessica said, her eyes frosting over and resembling chips of emerald ice, "Anger? Frustration? Maybe you'd never heard of it, been too busy floundering in your own jaded sea of bitterness and overall resentment. Sacred lights, no that's not my weakness, you can flash your little orbs of power around all you want it would make no difference to me."

"Meager scratches, they are nothing." Jessica gestured to her arm, "You think I'm going to bleed out because of this? Obviously you think less of me than what i think of you, which is actually quite an achievement. If you don't mind i think I'm going to move on..."

She turned on her heel and stalked away, controlling the urge to whirl and snuff out the light benders flame for good...
